We’re finding more and more of our clients in Vancouver and North Vancouver are looking for calm clean designs. This is very likely due to our environment, the world is a busy stressful place, your home should feel like an escape, calm and cozy.
How do we achieve this? Clear the clutter, less accessories such as cabinet hardware. Efficient interior cabinet storage systems to keep clutter off the countertops and simple material selections. While this kitchen design may look simple, a lot goes into achieving a simple minimalist design that doesn’t feel clinical and cold.

We’ve kept the focus on the stunning quartz countertops, a beautiful texture in whites, greys and creams really warm up the matte white cabinets. The island cabinets are a slightly darker shade of white that blends into the countertop colour that has modern waterfall edge on both sides of the island. The existing dark hardwood floors balance all the white, but we’ve selected the right shade of white to work with the floors, a slightly warm white, yet still bright.

Keeping the upper cabinets free of handles really opens up the space and keep it feeling calm and clean. This kitchen opens up right into the living room and dining area so it was important for everything to feel unified.

Below are some photos of the before, the storage solutions were not functional for the client. Lots of lift up doors and large deep cabinets. The wood grain effect on the doors conflicted with the wood floors and made the entire apartment feel dark. While texture is beautiful, this space was texture on texture, with the natural stone countertop and wood grain cabinet and floors.

Little things like outlet covers make a difference in your home. We’ve chosen covers that have hidden screws for a clean look.
